Special features

A new bridge was required in order to complete the architectonical concept of the railstation Nettersheim. A truss bridge made of timber seemed to match perfectly to the "Nature Center Eifel". The entire bridge was installed in one night, after the last train had passed the station. After one and a half hour, the first pedestrians could take their walk on the new bridge. The braces of the truss are designed corresponding to the load. In a asymmetric way there are no braces with the same angle. This asymmetric construction is especially attractive and eye-catching. The observation deck on the west side of the bridge provides a beautiful view over the park nearby.
