German Timber Construction Award 2007

On 15 May 2007 Schaffitzel Holzindustrie was awarded the German Timber Construction Prize for the “Tightening Strap Bridge in Ronneburg”!

Each year the world’s largest fair for forestry and timber industry “Die LIGNA” takes place in Hannover. The Award of the German Timber Construction Prize is one of the most important highlights every year. This year Dipl.-Ing. Richard Dietrich, architect of Traunstein, has entered the contest for the Timber Construction Award with his innovative timber bridge planning, designed for the BUGA 2007 in Gera-Ronneburg. Out of 223 nominations the judging panel awarded six prizes and five recognitions. The Bund Deutscher Zimmermeister (BDZ) offered this German Timber Construction Prize, awarded in cooperation with the Bund Deutscher Architekten (BDA), the Studiengemeinschaft für Holz-Leimbau, the Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt, Holzabsatzfonds and the Deutsche Messe.
